Yahoo! Web Messenger Meets Fluid.app

This evening I decided to play with a really kewl new app called Fluid. What this app does is allow you to create Site Specific Browsers. One of the first usages which popped into mind was a product I helped develop, Yahoo! Web Messenger. An annoyance of mine with it is that it had to live in a browser tab, something prone to getting closed accidentally, and also didn’t have any decent notifications of new messages when not in focus. Being the perfect candidate for Fluid, IMHO, I set out to give it a shot. In less than an hours time I built a pretty kewl demo and here’s how you can use it too. (more…)

Still yodeling, but soon to be purple no more…

Well, a day I have been stewing over for a few weeks now is finally upon me. This morning at the pre-dawn hour of 8am, my car goes in to have the wrapping removed. It’s a choice I didn’t make lightly and driving the yodelmobile will be a memory I will cherish for a long time to come.

Camera Bags

Reading Terry Chay’s recent blog post about camera/laptop bags, it made me start thinking about my own camera gear a bit. I’ve been long hunting the “best” camera bag for a long time and have unfortunately found such a thing doesn’t exist or I am looking in the wrong places. Instead I have found several bags which seem to each fit a specific niche of my needs. (more…)

2007 - A Year in Review

In some respects this year has flew by, in other respects it seems like it’s been a long year. It’s definitely been an eventful year, so I decided to do a recap of the year’s events. From jet-setting around the world (literally), to taking on new roles in the company, to diving off the deep end with new hobbies, to picking up a book deal this year has had it’s fair share of excitement. This list definitely isn’t all inclusive, but it should be offer good coverage of the highlights. (more…)
