Yeah, I did finally find the cause. The issue was the rear brakes. They apparently wore out much much faster than the front ones and the metallic noise was the safety stop on it alerting me. Did you figure out the source of the noise. I don't think it the airbag because I'm pretty sure I don't have that option, and I hear the same noise.
