Tonight I was sucked into going out and seeing what I concidered a rather poor movie. The movie is called Collateral and stars Jamie Fox and Tom Cruise. I won’t go into enough detail to ruin the movie for you, but my complaints are as follows:
- There wasn’t really much to the story. I felt the “idea” was a good one, just not well played out and really left you hanging in a negative way.
- The colors were washed out and over half the movie was blury. It appeared they did this intentionally (and not the fault of the theater). Personally I don’t care if they were going for a certain effect or not, it simply hurt my eyes.
- The roles seemed forced and nothing seemed real. Especially at the end in the final scenes (don’t want to give to much away, but you will know what I mean when you see it).
Overall I would give this movie a B- bordering on a C+. Watch it if you have nothing better to do with your money, but otherwise I would wait for DVD or watch a screener (if anyone wastes their time to make one of this movie).
